This is Krisse's assignment site for
LVS course Brush Basics,

First steps I did in Photoshop like color adjustments, masking and duplicating strawberries, leaves and an apple.
In Painter I made a quick clone for the image and had three layers in my work, pen stokes, painting and background layers.
The first image is a rollover image, including original and the work I like most. I used Artist Oil's Dry Bristle 8,8 grain 25% viscosity 35% blend 20% wetness 50%, in cloning mode. Making small brush strokes. For the background layer I used John's Impressionist from John Derry's brushes.
In these small images below I tried different surface texture. The first one is having rough paper as it was asked to add to this assignment. For the second I add first brush strokes and then lightly rough paper. For the third one I used image luminance.
Click the images to get them larger.
Didn't manage in my auto cloning project yet, but instead I try different brushes and did create one of my own. I have used the brush in my image making thin hairs of this flower.
For the background I used Soft Blender brush from Artist's Oils and default Basic Paper for texture. The two flowers in front are in my painting layer and those I made using Dry Brush form Artist's Oils. They are having 3D brush strokes texture effect.

I happen to see Karen's tutorial in Painter Talk about using auto painting
/auto cloning.
This auto-painting palette acts quite similar like AHB in Photoshop.
There was also under painting palette,
which I used in this Gerbera work. I
play with Intense Color using mainly Scribble Large,
but tried some other stroke
types too.
I can imagine this would be handy to use with selections. For adding some details
to flower centers for example.
The brush I used in here was also Artist's Oils
Dry Brush. My texture is 3D Brush strokes.
